After you have applied, we will review all your information to determine whether you meet the requirements. For details on what information is needed please see our job requirements. We will then contact you via email to arrange a time for a phone interview. The exact time and date will be pre-arranged so that you know exactly when we will call and can be prepared.
Note:
It is always advisable to write down information during the phone interview as you may need it later, particularly the day before you leave for Korea.
The interview will not only be a chance for us to get to know you but also for you to know us. Feel free to ask any questions about issues or concerns you may have. The interview will be fairly informal but will be our first direct contact with you, so it will play an important part when we make our final decision.

After the phone interview has been completed and we have accepted you as a qualified candidate, we will contact our schools to try to find you a placement that matches your preferences. We will work hard to satisfy all your requests but keep in mind that depending on the availability of jobs it may not always be possible to get a 100% match.
When a school is interested they may request their own interview with you. Again, this will be arranged in advance so you won¡¯t be caught off guard. Generally, this interview is to make the school director feel comfortable with the person they are hiring. The goal is for the school to ensure they are hiring someone with a good attitude and work ethic. Again, schools want to know that the teacher they hire will feel comfortable within their school teaching their students. Within a couple of days a formal contract offer will be made.

If and when a school agrees to hire you, a formal contract will be sent, after which you have only a few days (usually no more than 72 hours) to accept or decline the contract. We will also review the contract to make sure there are no hidden clauses or unlawful arrangements. Most contracts are pretty standard and vary very little. If you have any questions about the contract you may ask us at any time for clarification.
At this time, if you wish, we can place you in contact with a teacher currently working at the school you will be going to. This will give you the opportunity to ask a current employee what the working and living conditions are like. You may wish to inquire about the students, the director, other staff members, the accommodations and life outside the classroom.

If you decide to accept the contract you must send the required documents (see Required Documents) to the employer in Korea. After the package has been sent you must send the tracking number to Eduplanet. |

The school will take this information along with the necessary fee payment and apply for an E2 teaching visa on your behalf. After approximately 5 to 7 business days, if your visa is granted, a visa number will be assigned to you. This number will let the Korean Embassy know that you have been granted a working visa by the Korean Immigration Office. The school will then send this number to you which you must take along with all other required documents to the Korean Embassy or Consulate nearest you. The number may be sent by mail in if you are not located close to a consulate or embassy. Processing time for the visa is approximately 5 business days, but allow a few extra days especially if you are not applying in person or are requesting it over a long weekend.

Travel arrangements will be made for you. The school will send you a one-way ticket to Korea, departing from the city closest to your location. Upon competition of your contract, a second one-way ticket will be purchased for you to return home.
If you decide to buy your own one-way ticket to Korea, you will be reimbursed upon arrival. If you initially buy a roundtrip ticket, the employer will pay for only half the cost upon arrival and the other half once the contract has been completed.

Upon arrival in Korea you will be met by a representative from the school or you will be given instructions as to what you have to do when you land. We will let you know in advance who exactly you will be meeting. If your apartment is not ready (generally because the teacher you are replacing has not moved out yet) you will be given a temporary (paid) hotel room or a guest room in another teacher¡¯s apartment. This won¡¯t be for more than a few days. |

Orientation and training will last from a couple of days to a week maximum. During this time you will watch other teachers in their classrooms and be briefed on school rules, regulations, teaching structure and expectations. |

The process, from initial application to arrival in Korea, can take as little as six weeks. We accept applications as far in advance as you like; however, it is usually not possible to secure a position on your behalf more than 60 to 90 days in advance, as schools don't know their precise teaching needs earlier than that. |
